Introducing: Queequeg

Guess what I got for Christmas?

Yup, that’s right: a 30GB iPod G5. It’s great—I’ve loaded all my podcasts onto it, finally consolidated my home and office iTunes libraries, dumped in Address Book contacts and played around with the photo gallery. I can now listen to sermons (or American Radio) while I walk during my lunch break, and with the iTrip add-on I picked up, I now have my own truly conservative talk radio to listen to in the car. :D

The Downside: This means I’m now one of them. :o

    1. My wife bought this for me—don’t be dissing her. :p
    2. I don’t like it when a product’s manufacturer refuses to send me a style sheet for their web site because I’m not looking at it in IE.
    3. I use a Mac at work, and I’d prefer to be able to use the iTunes library I’ve already developed. If Microsoft wanted to go proprietary, they should have brought the thing out years ago. Apple’s too entrenched as the industry standard, and Microsoft still hasn’t learned from the whole Mozilla/Firefox uprising.
    4. Zune wasn’t all that before, and certainly isn’t all that now.

As for Vista, I’ll wait and see how soon the first major security patches are released. My money’s on “within the next three weeks.” ;)
