Agnes Pearl, Rest in Peace

I received a phone call from my mom this morning: my great-grandmother, Agnes Pearl Myerly, has passed away. She had been in the hospital for about a week, after a morning where my grandmom (she lived with my grandmom and step-granddad) said she wasn’t acting herself, had extremely high blood-sugar levels, etc. While somewhat expected, this still comes as somewhat of a shock, as everyone was expecting a recovery and talking about moving her to a nursing home for rehabilitation.

No word yet on viewing or funeral plans. Please pray for my mom’s family: Grandmom Myerly was somewhat of a matriarch for them, and so much a part of their lives.

Also, please pray for the people around me. I don’t want folks wringing their hands, wondering what to say. (I’ve been in their shoes plenty.) The best thing you could do for us is to pray that we would remain in God’s love; that Christ’s joy would be in us and that our joy would be complete.
